Senior thesis knitwear collection — 6 garments ++ 2 pairs of sock heels all knitted on a hand loom knitting machine & a crocheted necklace
An untraditional knitwear collection for a traditional ritual, inspired by brides in the 1800s who would wear the best clothes they had in their closet for their weddings and inspired by Jo March, who craves love but refuses to sacrifice her boyish ways and independence. These garments are imagined to be your favorite pieces you’ve had for so long that you want to wear them on your special day — so you pile on all your favorite clothes like an excited child on their birthday. These garments are so loved that they are distressed, in halves, have snags and are falling apart — a representation of what it is like to be changed by someone through so much love.
