A non-seasonal knitwear collection inspired by traditional Filipino textiles. All drawings done on procreate.

Would you time travel to visit a loved one you have lost? To a time before you were even born --- to get a chance to understand them even more? But how would you look once you return back to present day?

THE VISITOR, is a non-seasonal knitwear collection, visually articulating time travel as a form for healing grief and longing. Imagining I got to unravel time and visit my lost loved ones in the Philippines and exchange the stories I never got a chance to hear or share with them. And upon arrival back to present day, my clothes are a bit distorted, distressed, and a combination of different eras due to transcending time and space.

This collection is inspired by my grandparents, my desire to time travel to see them again, and traditional Filipino textiles from the late 1800s-1900s. By bringing Filipino culture into a modern collection to the fashion industry, where it is overlooked and only recognized in the Philippines, I want to diversify the industry and allow Filipino culture to be seen as modern, influential, and a mode for storytelling.
